There is a good range of material here, although you have missed the point a little in the research elements. I understand the influence of 500 Days of Summer for the style of your video, but I was really looking for research into actual artists/bands to demonstrate key elements of their image, audience and institutional context.

Prep: Music Video - Our initial Ideas
Prep:
1. Introduction to Advanced Portfolio – write out the brief:
A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three options:
• a website homepage for the band;
• a cover for its release on DVD;
• a magazine advertisement for the DVD.
2. Enter your initial ideas/treatment:
My first idea is the song "Stolen" by Dashboard Confessional ft. Juli which is a ballade. The star image of the band is more indie and rock. The performing band would be organic performers who are quite good-looking but still more focused on their performance.
The idea of the treatment for the music video was the contrast between a beach and a subway station. The girl who is standing at the beach singing and a boy who is singing at the same time in a subway station.
My other idea is the track "Young Love" by the Mystery Jets which is a more happy rocky song. The star image of this band is as well indie and rock and more organic performers. They might be quite good-looking and people can relate to the topic and therefore to the band.
My treatment to this track would be two children - a boy and a girl - who like each other and see each other every day. And then because of an event ten years without any contact. After 10 years they meet again in a bar. They are having one night of love (like they lyrics). after that night the guy still thinks about her in such obsession that he searches for her in the whole city by going from door to door. But in the she finds him again because she couldn't stop thinking about him either.
3. Proposal for a new popular music artist: new real idea:
The name of our new band is The Paper Hearts and their genre is indie, rock. The star image of
our band is that they are all good-looking but still organic performers who people can relate to. Our target audience would be girls in the age of 14 to 20. Our choice of track "Young Love" just happend because all of us three in the group agreed that we liked the song and we had one or another idea to it.
Our main idea is therefore a noticeboard, which contains everything that has happend in the night. Little things like scrabble pieces and flyers of the band (The Paper Hearts) or the photo strips are pinned on the noticeboard. Our music video is more narrative based but still is not obvious.
Basically the shots are going to be between the different pieces on the noticeboard, the band playing in a white room with colorful paperhearts hanging from the ceilling and the various events happening in real.
